Columbia River Manufacturing, Inc is an exciting, small company in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We are experiencing growth and looking to hire some key players to our already engaged, talented team in White Salmon, Washington. The gorge is a recreational destination for biking, hiking, windsurfing, kiteboarding, downhill & cross-country skiing and more which allows you to live and work where you play. Immediate openings for this position start at $14.00 to $20.00 per hour. and are eligible for both monthly and annual bonus $. Columbia River Manufacturing, Inc. is a producer of components for the aerospace, medical and transportation industries. A Machine Operator, installs, fixes, and operates various types of machinery. Their main duties include performing routine maintenance checks, following strict safety regulations and guidelines and operating mechanical or computer-operated equipment. In this position you will operate various machine shop equipment, including but not limited to CNC Vertical Machining Centers, Punch Presses, Press Brakes, and other Fabrication Equipment, Evaluating the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in reading and interpreting work orders, and assembly drawings & procedures  

  • Effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening, and taking instruction 

  • Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 

  • Advanced knowledge of following blueprints and manuals 

  • Excellent mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make simple repairs 

  • Great time management 

  • Keen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product, or operations issues 

  • Ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time 

  • Highly organized  

  • Able to efficiently manage multiple tasks  

  • Performs maintenance-related work as required. 

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area. 

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. 

  • Experience in conducting quality inspections of mechanical components.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

2+ years’ experience in metal fabrication or machine operations trade; or completion of accredited vocational technical school program. Provide personal tools.

Mathematical Skills:
